AHT PCL 5-E is a fully compatible emulation modeled after the HP LaserJet 4 series of laser printers. It can be ported to several processors under operating systems and can be used by several printers. Key features are:

UFST Technology:

One of the first to support UFST font technology Intellifonts and TrueType fonts.

Microtype Font:

One of the first to support AGFA Microtype font.

Other Fonts:

Also supports Bitmap. HP/GL Stick and Arc fonts.

Memory:

Requires as little as 1 MB of RAM for 300 dpi and 4MB of RAM for 600 dpi printing.

PJL:

Supports job control, page control, and status read back.

Long & Short Edge Feed:

Supports long edge and short edge feeds.

Four Raster data compression modes to help increase performance and minimize disk space requirements for images.

Designed to accommodate 300, 400, 600, and 1200 dpi

Quality Assurance:

Genoa LaserJet 4 ATS, FTS, and CET test suites used to verify compatibility. Fully tested by AHT and customers.

Ported to PC, AMD29K, Motorola 68K, and SGS-Thomson Transputer.
Working under SUN OS, Solaris, DOS, and VxWorks.
